Mongolian Chic at the GREENshowroom
Here’s part 2 of our top 3 labels spotted during Berlin Fashion Week (by Galina):
I loved this label’s collections, but their stand was so inundated with interested buyers that I didn't get a chance to talk to them in person. Founder of the label, Saruul Fischer, who is Mongolian herself, presented her beautiful cashmere couture in one of the elegant suites of the Adlon Hotel at the Green Showroom.
Deceptively simple, the cuts are incredibly flattering (my personal favourite is the ‘Sophie’, a drapey balloon-cut dress but figure hugging in all the right
places). Anyone who has ever worn cashmere knows how it makes you feel…infinitely huggable and warm, which is why cashmere products are always worthwhile investments. And because edelziege
produce their clothing in Mongolia using Mongolian cashmere they also ensure that the jobs and industry remain within the country. A supporter of the minimum wage and in-house childcare (many of
the women working in the knitting mills are single mothers), edelziege only works with small manufacturers who fulfil their high standards where fair working conditions and environmental
sustainability are concerned.
So if you’re going to go for luxury, then make sure it’s ethical and will stand the test of time! Check out the edelziege website for some inspiration for your
